Sedro-Woolley Attractions Near Birchview Memory Care

Centrally located near the heart of Sedro-Woolley, WA, our convenient location welcomes families and their loved ones into our community. Whether visiting your loved one at Birchview or leaving them in our care during a respite stay, you can enjoy the many activities the surrounding areas offer you.

Birchview Memory Care is located in Skagit County, known for the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April. We are also a short drive to visiting coastal towns with beaches! The following gives you a glimpse into the town of Sedro-Woolley and highlights some of our favorite town events.

Sedro-Woolley Walking Tour

Visiting Sedro-Woolley's historic downtown is a trip back in time with brick buildings fronted with comfortable wood benches beneath old-fashion light poles. You will also find life-size wood sculptures through out town. Pictured on buildings are painted murals, many inspired by Darius Kinsey, a world famous photographer of western scenery, logging and railroads.

Annual Events in Sedro-Woolley

WOODFEST is the first weekend in April. You can enjoy quality woodcrafters, traditional carvers, wood turners, chainsaw carvers, high school woodshop exhibits/competition/auction, educational exhibits, Cub Corner Cafe, and more!

BLAST FROM THE PAST is the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in June. It features sidewalk sales from local business as well as craft and food vendors both Friday & Saturday. Saturday also brings us food eating and hula hoop contests, as well as a stage show and live band, all in the gazebo and surrounding area of hammer heritage square! Sunday brings us the antique car show along Metcalf Street.

LOGGERODEO is during the week of July Fourth. This is the state’s oldest on-going 4th of July celebration. Enjoy the Rodeo, Barbecue, Street Dance with Live Band, Bluegrass Jubilee, Wild Women of Woolley, Chainsaw Competition, Historical Display & Demonstrations at the Museum, Carnival, Kiddies Parade, Logging Show, Footrace, Grand Parade, Fireworks at dusk, and more! Birchview Memory Care also celebrates Loggerodeo Events by putting on an annual Antique Car Show & BBQ open to the public!

FOUNDERS’ DAYS is the second weekend in September. On Saturday, join the Pancake Breakfast and Museum Open House. On Sunday, there’s a picnic at Riverfront Park, huge car show, and children’s activities in the park.

SANTA’S CITY OF LIGHTS PARADE is on the first Saturday in December. Children’s activities such as train and pony rides and other various happenings begin at 3 PM. The lighting of the giant Christmas tree at 5 PM kicks off the Santa parade.

HOLIDAY HOME TOUR is on the second Saturday in December. Visit 19th Century architecturally designed Sedro-Woolley heritage homes decorated for the holidays.
